2:03 De France Park

Public Deposited

The January 23, 1897 ice storm blanketed the entire city. Although not positively identified, this icy wonderland is believed to be the block owned by James M. De France and bordered by Jefferson, Mulanix, Pierce & Florence streets. Known as "De France Park," it was used as a public park by Kirksville citizens and was the site of Kirksville's first Chautauqua in 1905.
