Cutting a Debate Record, 1935

Public Deposited

Student Noah Richardson and Clifton Cornwell, instructor of speech, are shown cutting a debate record for the 1935 debate between Northeast Missouri State Teachers College and Kansas State College of Agriculture and Applied Science. The debate was done by cutting a record which was then sent to the other school where the speech of the other team was added. Through a series of cuttings and mailings, the debate was finally completed and was broadcast over a Kansas City radio station. This photo is from December 1935.
