The POST-DISPATCH St. Louis, Mo., Mar 5, 1916 Sunday Magazine FRANCE'S NATIONAL APPEAL FOR WAR FUNDS THIS is a reprint of a poster that was lately scattered broadcast throughout France. Its caption, freely translated, reads, "Loan for the National Defense." Beneath the picture of a soldier waving his adieux to his wife and children are the words: "Do not forget to subscribe-for victory-and for the return!" The legend at the bottom says, "published under the auspices of the National Federation of the French Benefit Society, which appeals to all the workers, all far-sighted persons, all patriots for the liberation of our territory and for final victory."
