(Page 1) France Nov 15 18 My Dearest Mother & All, Hurrah! over the good war news, say on the the 11th it sure was some news we got. So mother I suppose now you will be at ease. now since you heard Le Guerre is Finis, and I am too believe me. I have had several letters wrote to send you but haven't had any chance to mail them so I guess you will get several at one time. I haven't had any letters now for several days, (Page 2) [no text] (Page 3) 2 and I am anxiously waiting for one. I am way back behind the lines now about twenty miles I guess this is the farthest back we've been since July. We can here [sic] the mines and duds blowing up as the German vacate. Duds are shells that failed to explode. I suppose they are sure selling the newspapers in the States now, all the news we get is from the Headquarters. We are in the woods at the present, [illegible text] (Page 4) 3 we sure have some billets and it sure is nice and cold everything was froze the other morning when we got up. Alva just got back from the hospital. He is feeling fine and dandy and he sure looks it too. Well Mother I suppose you heard about the big drive on St. Mikail, well we were in that, and we sure done some fine work.
