Hello to all.

I will write you a few lines to let you no [sic] I am well. I got your letter that had Hugh Attemberry 
Funeral in it sure was to [sic] bad. How is everbody [sic] at home now. I am well as can be hope you 
are the same. I have been but to the front for some time. I cant [sic] tell you just where I have been 
shot at in several ways but they hant [sic] got my number yet, sure sory [sic] Mimie has got to go back

to the hospital. I want you to go down and write a letter for her. Has Don been class yet if he has I 
want you to tell me what class he is in. Tell me if Bill Tibbitt has been call. Will [sic] I dont [sic] 
no [sic] much to tell you as we have to keep ahead all the time. And all I get to see is hill, and torn 
down buildings and barb wire-entanglements, well I was over to see "Fritz" an he woulden [sic] welcome 
me open fire and wont [sic] Will I want to

tell you that I can see aeroplane [sic] one sweap [sic] down yesterday and shot two observation bloon [sic]. 
And other thing I am smoking Bull Durum so if you can send me some cigarettes they will be appricated [sic]. 
Well from what promises has been taking they say that Fritz cant [sic] run. So you no [sic] some one has to 
win and we have got him on the run and if he stays befor [sic] he get to Berlin he wont [sic] be able to start

no [sic] I hant [sic] but I have been in a pretty hot place. I got Dee letter [sic] and tell her to write 
some more one-thing we have lots to eat and beer and shampain [sic] to drink. Will [sic] that is all I
