Was on the water when you wrote it.The first I heard from you for a long time. The last time I heard was adressed [sic] to Camp Bode I got it at Camp Mills, N.Y. I was sorry to hear about little brother being sick wish I could of heard how he was last night when I got the letter. So many changes can happen between letters before I get them. I will worry now untill [sic] I hear from you again But I am liveing [sic] in hopes he will be all right [sic] but he isent [sic] very strong and I am afraid it will go hard with him. I am all so vexed to think Vern dident[sic] go with the auto truck service. he shure [sic] would of saved his feet many a hard tramp [sic]. And he has bad feet anyway. But I can say this much I have felt fine all this time and have never been on the sick list. So I have no kick comeing [sic]. |Over.| (Page 2) I cant say but what I have rather enjoyed this life so far. Am getting anxious to get into the real stuff and get it over with. I have shure [sic] seen some beautiful sight I would of never had a chance to see if it hadent [sic] been for this war and I think I will see some sights before I come back if nothing happens. I have plenty to eat so far and have a good place to sleep and plenty of exercise so I guess that is plenty. Well I want you to write very often for you know it will be a long time between letters when I get them. And I will try and write more often than I have before. Well I will close for this time as I dont know of anymore to say now. Hopeing [sic] to hear from you soon. I remain as ever your loveing [sic] son & Brother. Pvt. George J. Douglas. Co. B. 351 Inf.
