City KNIGHTS OF COLUMBIS Army of Occupation Aldegand Germany Dear Sister will ans. your most welcome letter of April 9th which I recieved [sic] yesterday was sure glad to get it for it has Been some time since I herd [sic] from you I had a letter from may a few days ago it was dated March 30th. Well I am in germany now cant [sic] tell how long we will Be over here yet guess not more then [sic] a year or two, it dosent[sic] lack But a few days of Being one year since we started from New York. am getting anxious to get Back But wouldent [sic] take a good deal for my (Page 2) [no text] (Page 3) Date A.P.O. But it is rather hard to get a discharge over here Say I think those chickens will Be Big enough to fry when I get there alright and you want to have quite a Bunch for I may stay for a few days. Say I think Mathew is starting to plowing rather yong [sic] isent [sic] he. grapes seem to Be the main crop in this part of the world it is very hilly where we are. the Morsel River is where we are located the Railroad is on one side we are on the other the hills are nearly strate [sic] (Page 4) [no text] (Page 5) Date A.P.O. City KNIGHTS OF COLUMBIS Army of Occupation 3 up, and grape vines all the way up top. they do most of the work By hand horses are scarce some work cows. they have their gardens close to the river the fruit trees are all in Bloom looks as though they might have a little fruit. there seems to Be severel [sic] of the Boys from around there getting Back guess I am in the wrong Bunch to get home quick. We are having Better weather now then [sic] we did in France we also have good rooms & Beds so I guess we arent [sic] so Bad off after all. I havent [sic] seen Ray or Bugs for about three weeks as we are about 25 miles apart tell John I will drop him a line next time.
