(Page 1) 1. Fort Crook, Neb. Feb, 20, 1919. Dear folks at home rec. your letter the other day and was glad to get it. But was a little disappointed not to get my papers. But maybe it is the best thing that I didn't. But would sure be glad to get out. But don't want any Body [sic] to say that I was a slacker so will stay and do my duty and then if any body [sic] says anything to me when I do get out they had better run for that is something that (Page 2) (Page 3) 2. the soldiers boys will not take. Well I wrote to George but hope he is at home before I am so maby [sic] he can come up and see me, would be glad to see any one [sic] from home but no it is impossable [sic] for you to come so I am very well satisfide [sic]. I am glad to no [sic] that Ober is going to stay at home and help if he only knew what I know he would be willing to do anything to get to stay at home I see my mistake. You said papa thought the thirteenth was an unlucky (Page 4) (Page 5) 3. day But I think it was lucky this time guess Ober's Birthday will soon be here he is getting to be quite an old boy. But just think of me and Geo. he is almost Ball headed [sic] and I am getting gray headed so he can think him selfe [sic] lucky that he is not any older. Well guess I have wrote all I can think of tonight so will close it has been snowing all day about 4 inches of snow on the ground now. so guess we can go sled rideing [sic] (Page 6) (Page 7) 4.
