My Dear mother as I am feeling fine and dandy I will write you a few lines and let you know I received 
your letter OK got it yestarday [sic] I have not got but a few minuets [sic] to write but it will end 
in a little while at least I pray it will eny[sic] hour sopose [sic] Earl is in france by this time or 
on his way hom [sic] do you like to work at the lunch counter hope you like it OK I think we will be 
on our way by xmas to the States and I will be one happy Bird when that time comes I will come Home 
first of all well I will hafto [sic] turn this letter in by one oclock so will close with love & kisses
