Will let you know I am in the best of health and like france [sic] very well by now but some evenings when we go down on the beach an [sic] look toward the West I began thinking of the old U.S.A. not that I am not satisfied as we are well fed over here of

course there is also plenty of work. We get paid this evening behind me we are beginning to need it as what money we did have we spent on the boat we got paid in french [sic] money. I'll draw 140 franc O [sic] no not dollars franc but it goes easy over here. A franc dosn't [sic] last long. general pershing was here today and made a nice speech. I didn't get to hear him but they all say it was good
