2:07 Robert Lorenz Residence
Pubblico DepositedRobert and Ella (Shoop) Lorenz had this new home built during the summer and fall of 1896. A long-time Kirksville grocer, Robert came to the U.S. from his native Germany at age 17 and arrived in Kirksville three years later (1870). The couple along with their children, and possibly a son-in-law, are standing among the ice-damaged trees on their front lawn after the January 23, 1897 ice storm.
